Odysseus mine early works programme complete. New offtake agreement with Sumitomo Metal Mining, for delivery of high-grade nickel sulphide precipitate (NSP) produced at MREP.
2018
Odysseus Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) which confirms a robust 10-year operation. Completion of the Mill Recovery Enhancement Program (MREP).
2017
Kidman acquires Lithium rights from Western Areas’ tenements. Odysseus Pre-Feasibility study completed. Successful completion of Bluejay share sale.
2016
Exploration commences at Cosmos. New offtake contract with BHP Nickel West.
2015
Western Areas approves Mill Recovery Enhancement Program (MREP). The Company completes the acquisition of the Cosmos Nickel Complex.
2010-2014
2014
Flying Fox Resource and Reserve upgrade. Western Areas enters Gawler Craton exploration agreements.
2013
Company changes from NL to Ltd.
New high-grade nickel discovery at New Morning and continued high-grade intersections. New two-year offtake agreement with Jinchuan.
Finland exploration assets listed on London AIM.
2012
Kagara Nickel assets, including Lounge Lizard, acquired.
A$105.5 million of outstanding convertible bonds retired for cash. New high-grade nickel sulphide discovery at Sunrise. Top honours at the WA Industry & Export Awards.

First ore from Spotted Quoll underground
2010
First dividend payment declared.
First ore production from Spotted Quoll and Cosmic Boy concentrate treatment plant upgrade completed.
Convertible Bond exchange offer – A$110 million of previous A$225 million bonds exchanged for later dated maturity. Spotted Quoll underground mine approved.
2005-2009
2009
Cosmic Boy Concentrator begins production. Offtake restructure, long-term arrangement formed with BHP. First short term off-take agreement Jinchuan signed. First, open pit mine development at Spotted Quoll – only two years since the discovery.
2007
Convertible Bond launched A$225 million.
The initial discovery of Spotted Quoll Deposit.
2006
Construction of Cosmic Boy approved. First ore from Flying Fox, after completion of decline. Production is continuous to the current day.
1999-2004
2004
First Flying Fox Resource – indicated the mineral resource of 176,000 tonnes @ 6.4% nickel containing approximately 11,300 tonnes nickel for the T1 zone [Note: Historical resource stated for reference purposes only, not current resource – the T1 zone has since been mined out].
Flying Fox mine development begins.
2003
First intersections at Flying Fox deposit.
2002
First drill hole at Forrestania intersects new zone of high-grade nickel sulphide.
Expanded drilling program commences – drilling at Forrestania now largely operated on a permanent basis up until the current day.
2000
IPO and admission to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). A$5 million raised at an issue price of 20 cents per share.
